Gas Mileage Question...

How has the summer been so far for people??

I own a First gen SOHC Auto. and i think i might have asked this question before but what do people get for gas mileage in there car?

I'm getting like 320KM per tank. That's with the gas light on and push'n it lol ..

My girlfriends car is an 03 SOHC auto, and I believe she is getting that as well.

I manage to get 350 out of a tank in my car.

im getting about 400 to 450 beating it and thats a 98 dohc five speed with a mopar computer, safc2, header and a cold air intake i was seeing 300 to 350 beating it with out the comp and the safc2 they helped and gave me more power

In my 1st gen SOHC, I'm lucky to see 300, 250 is about average. (it's fairly modded)

My 2ng gen SOHC, I can get about 425 500 depending how I drive, Since this car is used mostly to commute to work, I baby it and almost never beat on it.

Beating on it: 425
Taking it easy:500 or even more.

A lot will also depend on the octane you use, I use 91 to 94 depending on what station I get gas at, but never below that.

87 is fine for a lot of older cars, V8's etc etc, but not good at all for 4 cylinder cars.

my 98 DOHC 5 speed coupe gets about 575 if i baby it, about 475-500 when i pound on it.

My 99 2.4 is a pig- it only goes 425... and that is taking it easy(most of the time LOL)

99.9% of my KM's are highway...

i can't remember what i used to get with mine...but i believe it was around the 400km/ tank....just a SOHC with a 5-spd... now my new vehicle i get around 700km to a tank... sure it's 116 L... but i can almost make a round trip from yarmouth to halifax without gassing up lol

Rob what your getting for a SOHC Auto is about right with a good running engine.

Take in consideration too of larger wheels. Heavier rotating mass. Also dont you have a abnormally large stereo in your trunk? lol.

I can get around 350 doing say 90% city and 10% highway... With a switched ratio i can get close to 400-450...

Mind you, I dont go easy on this car all the time, my AC is almost always on, I do have a sound system in the back (takes almost 70% of my trunk) and use regular gas.

Its a 2002 2.0 4 spd auto (half blown). About 175,000 KM.

How are those numbers? I didnt think they were good AT ALL until i compared some right now with you guys

600km usually on the nose for me, but im 85% highway.

174k on it, 2005 sx 5-speed, stock other than the mopar air filter and box cover off.

My mileage goes down now when i place the cover back on so it stays off all year round.

Have run mobile1 full synthetic in it from 20K to just now (174k)...now running mobile1 synthetic blend for higher mileage cars (half the frikken price).
